 I Challenge Your Courage, Brothers and Sisters

The leadership of both spiritual and secular progressives finds it convenient to consciously or unconsciously suppress efforts to ask the hardest questions about the most important political event in recent history, 9/11. Progressive activists correctly urge each other to question authority, but they don’t consider it suspicious when they are urged by their own leadership to ignore government lies. My challenge today holds you grassroots activists responsible for the suppressive decisions of your leaders. William Pepper believes Martin would face the challenge of 9/11
Many of you are aware of attorney William Pepper’s efforts on behalf of King’s family to expose the lies about Martin’s murder. He notes, “Without doubt, Martin King would be in despair over what has transpired in his beloved native land. I also have no doubt that he would enthusiastically support this quest for truth about the atrocity that has shaken and drastically changed our world. He would remind us that truth crushed to earth will rise again and that we should never continue to mourn into passivity the loss of liberty and our loved ones – but organize.”
Every major institution in the US refuses to ask the hard questions about 9/11. Because of that reality, we as Americans DO NOT DESERVE to live in a free country.
What do I ask of you?
Am I suggesting you must stop whatever is your current focus to immerse yourself in 9/11 truth research? No.
Am I suggesting you must come to the conclusion that there was government complicity?
No.
I AM suggesting that you care enough about justice within the movement to help create a place of respect for 9/11 truth advocates and researchers in relevant progressive institutions. This doesn’t mean “truthers” are above criticism. I deplore the paranoia and anti-collective attitudes so prevalent among fellow truthers. We still deserve a place at the progressive table. Truther opposition to the current imperial wars deserves recognition.

The "war on terror" requires suppression of investigating 911
In case you aren’t aware of our strongest evidence, a good place to start is at Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (ae911truth.org). Over 500 architects and engineers say the 3 tower collapses were controlled demolitions. Did you even know a third skyscraper collapsed that day? The 47-story World Trade Center 7 (WTC 7) collapsed symmetrically and at freefall speed WITHOUT BEING HIT BY A PLANE.
9/11 Truth as a means to confront racism
If you do not support respect for the 9/11 truth movement, you are missing an opportunity to confront racism. Please note that I realize there are many anti-racist activists reading this who have given so much more of themselves than I have to address this deepest of American issues. It pains me to suggest that on the issue of suppression of 9/11 activism, you could STILL be considered responsible for allowing those on the wrong side of history to carry the day.
There is a terrible burden on Arab and Muslim people of the racial stereotype of the Muslim terrorist. It is used to generate support for war in the Middle East. It will continue to be used to support Obama’s war in Afghanistan. Why do progressives suppress efforts to lessen this burden? Consider the old “boy who cried wolf” lesson. Just as those who ignored the lying boy in the fable when he called for help when he DID need it, the American people could decide to think twice when they encounter warmongers involved in seduction. We need help now to confront ALL government lies. The public could come to understand that we should monitor our own government MUCH more than “foreign terrorists.” How many anti-racist activists with light skin are risking their reputations that such a revelation CAN’T be achieved? And all that because they fear their ADVERSARIES will call them “conspiracy theorists.”
You may be surprised to hear that the great whistleblower of 9/11 was an African American New York City emergency coordinator named Barry Jennings, who died suspiciously last summer. It seems he sealed his fate by giving an interview with 9/11 truth activists where he reported that explosions occurred in WTC 7 BEFORE either of the twin towers, WTC 1 and WTC 2, fell. He also admitted that a person who rescued him from WTC 7 that morning told him not to look down while he was stepping over what felt to him to be dead bodies. (The official story holds that fires started by debris from the collapse of WTC 1 caused WTC 7’s collapse and that no one died in WTC 7). “Debunkers” who complain of the lack of whistleblowers need to ask Barry Jennings’ wife and four children why there are no 9/11 whistleblowers.
The murders by weaponized anthrax, including AT LEAST 2 postal workers IN THIS CITY, are an affront to all African Americans. Why do local progressives ignore the issue? The USPS anthrax victims I know feel so isolated. Check my links or contact me for more on this.
Allow me to compare the issue of courage in the face of fascism with the problem of defensive driving. If you make an error, it could cost you your life. Do you really want to defend the idea of ignoring trucks you feel are undeserving of your attention?
The speakers at this event include top religious activists. Please note the top scholar in the 9/11 truth movement, the emeritus divinity school professor David Ray Griffin, was not invited to be here. He was praised for his 9/11 research by William Sloane Coffin before Rev. Coffin’s death. Please research Prof. Griffin’s excellent books such as Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11: A Call to Reflection and Action,.and consider inviting him to an event of your own. If the only problem is a lack of resources, ask me to help fundraise.
Like the issue of racism, the issue of courage at an event like this finds me taking issue with some people who are among the most courageous people in our society. I make no claims to perfection. Jesus Christ wants me to love and forgive everybody.
That is the challenge I place before myself. Please consider facing my challenge to you. “It’s not my issue” is no longer acceptable. “I’m not a scientist, so I don’t know what to believe” is not acceptable. Asking hard questions means you can come up with varied answers. Our freedom is at stake.
